City Center Partnership is pleased to announce Daniel Long has been selected as the new outreach coordinator for downtown Columbia. Outreach has been identified as a systematic attempt to provide services beyond conventional limits to a particular segment of the community. For the purpose of this position, the target groups identified are property owners and individuals on the streets who are in need of assistance.
“The position was developed to respond to the growing concerns of business owners participating in the Business Improvement District (BID) as well as the tremendous need to identify and address the issues surrounding homelessness,” said Matt Kennell, President & CEO of City Center Partnership. “To achieve optimum results with the identified population, one should possess solid assessment skills with the ability to build relationships and problem solve. Ultimately we felt Daniel’s background included all of this expertise and stood out from the competition.”
About Daniel Long
Long has worked with various outreach facilities over the past few years, including Psychiatric Solutions, Inc., Lutheran Family Services, and Alston Wilkes Society Veterans Home. Long received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy & religion from Piedmont College and his Master of Arts in professional counseling from South University. He is very active in the community, and he serves on the Lutheran Family Services Quality Management Committee and is a member of the American Counselor Association (ACA). He is TCI Certified, CPR certified by the American Red Cross Association, certified in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), and knowledgeable in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute).
